OKI: Printers and Beyond

Although Oki Electric Industry has been established since 1881, it has largely been overshadowed by more well known brands such as HP, Xerox, and Panasonic. But despite this relative obscurity, OKI is a Japanese-based company that operates in over one hundred countries. They were responsible for the first Japanese phone, which was manufactured in 1881.

After this milestone, OKI expanded into other arenas such as ATMs and printers. In particular, OKI printers are some of the most well known products of this company. They continue to make dot-matrix printers as well as xerographic printers. Continuing to set themselves apart, they typically have less moving parts than other traditional printers.
